NOTHING WILL KEEP ME FROM JESUS, V
by Lesa Ankney

This teaching was presented to God’s Girls Ministry Women’s Bible
study on Monday, August 16th, 2010. Personal testimonies are not
included in these notes. This editor believes personal testimonies
belong to the person telling it and should not be posted on a public
forum such as the Internet by anyone except the testifier. Bracketed
and italicized scripture references supplied in these notes were not
in the teaching but are here as a study reference for your learning.
King James Version Bible quoted unless noted otherwise.

On August 16th 2010, Scott Crowder, a Worship Leader from Restoration
Christian Center, provided live acoustic worship music. We went over
the total sacrificial offering gift total, ($3700) and were updated
on the status of the new location. Announcement: Sept 13 we will meet
in our new location at #17 Hidenwood Shopping Center at The Circuit.
Prayer requests were accepted and prayed for. Kathy Walls gave her
personal testimony regarding her trip to the International House of
Prayer in Kansas City with the interns. Sally said: “We don’t belong
to a group called God’s Girls; we ARE His girls and we are LOVED. God
is proud of us. He loves each and every one of us in a unique manner.
Put that in your heart.”

Lesa read through Psalm 91 Hear the words.

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide
under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God;
in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and
from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt
thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the
arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the
destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right
hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the
wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the
most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come
nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in
all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot
against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the
dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver
him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him
in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Because we we made God our dwelling place, because we know and
acknowledge God’s name [Yahweh] because we set our love on Him, God
will do all these wonderful things for us: He will protect us,
deliver us and honor us. Sometimes we fear the night and what is out
of our control. Don’t be afraid of the dark because we are followers
of Jesus Christ who is the Light of the world. We do not live in the
dark in Him. Those that live in the shelter of the Almighty do not
dwell in darkness.

When we have an extended house guest, we get to know them more
intimately, especially if you are living in close quarters. You learn
all about the nature and characteristics with whom you live. If you
dwell with God, if you live with God in close quarters, you will not
fear because you will know that he is Faithful. When things do not
look so good, do we trust and rest in the shadow of the Almighty or
do we worry and fret and fear? What will happen if we deliberately
live with God ALL THE TIME? Not just occasionally when we get
together on Mondays or when a crisis comes up. But all the time?

Psalm 91:15
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him
in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

There will be trouble and pressure in this life. We are guaranteed to
have pressure and trouble. But when we make God our dwelling place,
He will answer when we call Him, He will honor us, he will be with us
during the trouble and He will deliver us from the trouble.

God promised us last week that there would be Joy, Peace, Honor and a
river of healing in the new place. So lets honor all who come to our
new place. It will be open to the public. We will honor all, rich or
poor, a driver of a Mercedes or a homeless person. Lets equally honor and love
all who come in.

It is not the music and songs that bring us into a place of worship
of God once a week—we should live in a place of continual worship all
the time. For instance, in our workplaces, we worship God by working
heartily as unto the LORD. It does not matter if you get paid for
your work or not…God commands us to work. So work as if you are
dwelling in the house of God. If you make the Most High your refuge,
NO HARM WILL COME TO YOU. Will that bring you peace, knowing that no harm will come to you?

[A Question was asked…"I don’t understand the difference between trouble and harm"… Lesa answered the question that we can live through trouble
without harm coming to us. [For instance if you are get laid off from
your job and have bills to pay, the hardship will not hurt you.]
But
our God’s definition of harm and our definition of harm may very well
differ. There was an underground church in China that was found. The
official said if you spit on the Bible you will be free to live and
go but if you do not spit on the Bible and renounce your faith you
will be shot. Starting with the Pastor, he leaned and kissed the
Bible and said, "Forgive me Father for what I am doing," and proceeded to spit on the Bible. He walked from the building and unharmed. This scenario repeated itself multiple times until the last person came up. A 16 year old girl held the Bible close to her chest and kissed the Bible and said, “I WILL
NEVER SPIT ON THE BIBLE NOR RENOUNCE THE JESUS WHOM I LOVE.” She was shot to death right then and there. To me, to all of us, that looks like she was harmed. However, immediately she enjoyed the rewards for her stand ETERNALLY in heaven as the angels of God rejoiced over her and attended to her.

No disaster will befall your tent because He will command His angels
to keep you [guard, protect, attend to you] because you LOVE HIM. Not
because God loves you. Not because God loves me. But because you love
Him! But because I love him and acknowledge His name. If our focus is on trouble then our focus won’t be on God. STOP, TAKE A BREATH AND BE WITH GOD.

Because of her stomach issues, the surgeon told Lesa she would not be
adjusting her eating habits for only 2 weeks, as she healed but it
would be a lifestyle change. This is a life change, an ADJUSTMENT.
SLOW DOWN AND SIT DOWN to eat. Forever. There is no fast way to sit
in the house of the LORD. It will require change. Work is important
but if you work so many hours that you no longer have enough time to
do what God has called you to do, it's not good.

God will ‘put mail in your box first.’ If He needs you to make
adjustments, He will tell you first. Only if you ignore Him, will He
tell it to someone else to tell you again.

ASSIGNMENT THIS WEEK: Ask yourself—Is what I am doing right now
dwelling in the House of the LORD? If you do not think about dwelling with God and worshipping Him until next Monday, chances are you are not dwelling there all week. This should provoke you to change to dwell in the House of God.
Remember there is a fine line between God convicting you and you
feeling condemned. You are not condemned in Christ---however,
you may feel His conviction…Let’s dwell in the house of God and
abide in Him in all we do more and more this week. Amen.
