Wow, what a year! It has been one of the best, busiest
and hardest of my life. I think I have experienced every emotion known
to man (or woman), as is the case. The year started with continued
growth for SOZO Clean and the realization that the office space we were
in was getting smaller or we were getting larger. So we moved, and our
new place is awesome! Soon I realized that I could not continue to hold
down my full time job at Christopher Newport University and grow with SOZO or God's
Girls Ministry. That was bitter sweet because I love CNU! But it was
time….
Here is what I am learning;
v
Ministry takes place in the moment by moment
day to day life of every follower of Jesus Christ, not just those who make
it a full time vocation.
v
It is fun sometimes and a great sacrifice at
others.
v
Sometimes I laugh until I cry, sometimes I cry
until I laugh.
v
I have a lot to be thankful for.
v
If the goal is to glorify God, everything else
seems small.
v
Love is the trump card, and sometimes hard to
throw. (especially when I want to be right)
v
God is my vindicator.
v
Our words are powerful. (in both the positive
and negative sense)
v
More than happiness, fame or fortune, what
truly satisfies is to know and be known by Him.
If I could encourage you in any one thing this coming New
Year, it would be to find time, take time or make time to be in His
presence every day. You don’t need to say anything, just sit with him,
be still.
Psalm 46:10 challenges us to "be still and know that I am
God." Personal initiative is no substitute for reliance on God. This
command challenges us to recognize that we are finite and he is
infinite. It is a simple principle, more difficult in practice but worth
the pursuit. In the quiet calm, he will whisper your name and you will
never be the same.
Serving with you,
