Mt 11:28
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Greetings from God's Office!
Each day I am more and more amazed by this place. In the background I hear
the words "be glory, dominion, forever and ever to Jesus Christ who was and
is and is to come.'' .............I am at rest.
Let me say that again. I am at rest. This does not come naturally to me. We
started a bible study this week called "Worn Out Woman". I could easily be
the poster child! Life is hard...Sometimes we just take on too much, but life
demands a lot of women. There really is hope. Jesus said, come to me if you
are worn out (Lesa's paraphrase) and I will give you rest. Can it really be
that simple? I believe it really is. What makes it something that we rarely
attain, is that we do not take the time to go to him. Yes, I know the
argument, "Please don't add one more thing on my list of things to do."
Here's my challenge: Go to him. Right now. Just say "Here I am, Jesus. I
don't really know what to say but I am tired and I need your rest. So here I
am."..............
Now just sit there. Wait for him. Be still. Be quiet and
wait. Just for a couple of minutes. Stop reading, do it now.
Later today, when you think of it again, do it again. "Here I am, Jesus." Do
it while you are driving, or packing lunches or folding clothes. Just go to
him.
Intimacy with Christ is worth pursuing. Don't allow the excuses about why
this will not work for you keep you from him. Go to that secret place that
the two of you meet. Can you feel the excitement and anticipation building?
Once you taste the sweetness of his presence nothing will be able to keep
you from him. So go ahead, I dare you! "Here I am Jesus."
