Wow,
It's been a long time since my
last newsletter. So much has
happened, I scarcely know where
to begin........
I watched my 4 year old
granddaughter in her pretty
white dress with her beautiful
long dark hair as she danced
through the room like a
ballerina. Ahh... she is the
princess and she knows it. When
she stopped and put her brothers
football helmet on, I saw a
vivid picture of the life of
most women I know. On the one
hand, we are the princess with
the beautiful clothes and a song
and dance in our hearts but on
the other, we need to wear a
football helmet for protection!
Life is hard. I wish I had a
prettier, more princess-like
story to tell but the reality is
life is just plain hard. The
good news is that God is good
and fair and just and merciful
and gracious and loving...
should I go on? Sometimes I get
caught up in the battle of day
to day life and I feel like I am
dodging bullets all day long
thus the need for the helmet. I
forget to dance. I don't want to
forget to dance. I want to be
reminded that this life has
nothing for me and when I look
to it for my fulfillment I am
always disappointed. I need to
be reminded that the God I serve
loves me in spite of my flaws
and has a plan and purpose for
my life that will trump whatever
battle wounds I endure.
That is our hope, ladies, our
God is our hope!! So let's
dance...and laugh... and cry if
we need to but let's do it
together. Making the effort will
have it's own reward.
At God's Girls Ministry, we
are committed to be a part of
the revolution that changes the
way that women relate to each
other. We will need tools to
help us because it is no small
task! So please take advantage
of these upcoming ways to get
connected with other women.
Beginning Monday, June 9th at
6:30, we will begin a book study
of "The Bait of Satan" by
John Bevere. This book will walk
