Princess Dance

Wow, It's been a long time since my last newsletter. So much has happened, I scarcely know where to begin........

I watched my 4 year old granddaughter in her pretty white dress with her beautiful long dark hair as she danced through the room like a ballerina. Ahh... she is the princess and she knows it. When she stopped and put her brothers football helmet on, I saw a vivid picture of the life of most women I know. On the one hand, we are the princess with the beautiful clothes and a song and dance in our hearts but on the other, we need to wear a football helmet for protection!

Life is hard. I wish I had a prettier, more princess-like story to tell but the reality is life is just plain hard. The good news is that God is good and fair and just and merciful and gracious and loving... should I go on? Sometimes I get caught up in the battle of day to day life and I feel like I am dodging bullets all day long thus the need for the helmet. I forget to dance. I don't want to forget to dance. I want to be reminded that this life has nothing for me and when I look to it for my fulfillment I am always disappointed. I need to be reminded that the God I serve loves me in spite of my flaws and has a plan and purpose for my life that will trump whatever battle wounds I endure.

That is our hope, ladies, our God is our hope!! So let's dance...and laugh... and cry if we need to but let's do it together. Making the effort will have it's own reward.

At God's Girls Ministry, we are committed to be a part of the revolution that changes the way that women relate to each other. We will need tools to help us because it is no small task! So please take advantage of these upcoming ways to get connected with other women.

Beginning Monday, June 9th at 6:30, we will begin a book study of "The Bait of Satan" by John Bevere. This book will walk us through unresolved issues of forgiveness and offense. Discussion led by Jaime Harris.

Pray with us in God's Office during the work week. Stop by any time during normal business hours or meet with us on Monday nights at 6:00 to pray for the community. New in June: Come pray through lunch with us at God's Office on Wednesday's from 11:30-12:30. A bag lunch will be provided for the first 10 who arrive or bring your own lunch.

Contact Carol for more info.

We will also begin a book club led by Missy Smith on Tuesday evening's in June. The first book being read and discussed is "The Shack" by William P. Young. Please contact Missy for more information.

Beading classes are now available in the "Kitchen". There are several dates to choose from. Please contact CeCee Vlk for more information.

On Sunday June 1st at 4:00. We will have a cook out at the Ankney house to thank all of you that helped with the planning of God, Women and Chocolate. Which by the way was a huge success! Please bring a side dish and your family and let's spend the afternoon together.

Please RSVP to lesa@sozoclean.com

Oh and if you didn't help with the event but just want to come hang out, please do.

If you are interested in becoming a part of a small group for women or for couples, please contact us. We are partnering with "Winning at Relationships" and are committed to helping you get connected with other families to develop friendships and relationships that will encourage and strengthen each other. Contact Cindy Southworth for more information.

Need to get plugged in? We have many opportunities to get you connected. Contact us if you would like to be a volunteer with God's Girls Ministry.

We know that summer is a busy time but believe that it is important to stay connected and focused as followers of Jesus Christ. We love you and are eager to serve in any way we can. Please contact info@godsgirlsministry.com for more information on any of the above mentioned groups.

Have a blessed and prosperous summer!

Stay focused, fit and fascinated with our God!

and don't forget to dance!
