Something occurred to me
this week as I delivered a
message to Hope Community
Church. There was a guest
in the audience that was
there for no other reason
than to pray for me as I
delivered the message. I
mentioned to the audience
how privileged I felt having
one of the women who
regularly prayed for me with
us today. Almost immediately
my heart was stirred.
I feel
confident that through out
my life there have been
people that have prayed for
me, but today I said "One of
the women who prays for
me". Wow, how blessed am I
to know that I have several
women in my life that pray
for me everyday! Immediately
I felt humbled, and
confident and honestly had
to hold back the tears of
joy as I continued to
speak.
I
challenged the audience to
ask God to put someone on
their heart that they could
pray for daily over the next
month. I would like to
challenge you to the same.
The
demands on women are great.
The demands on women leaders
and the wives of male
leaders in the church are
often even greater. We all
need prayer and we all need
to pray. I believe that it
is the heart of the father
that his girls be covered in
prayer, and we all have a
special place in his heart.
I
encourage you to not put
this off. Ask God now and
then immediately call or
e-mail the woman that God
has put on your heart and
tell her that you will be
praying for her over the
next thirty days, then ask
another friend to hold you
accountable.
Let's
get serious about this life
as Christians. Let's resolve
to not be lukewarm but
rather be passionate about
the things of God. Prayer
changes things, prayer
changes people, prayer
changes us! Just
imagine...... what could
happen if we really
prayed?
